Living in Dunellen
Dunellen, located at the northern border of Middlesex County, is known as “The Railroad Town,” because it has had railroad service to New York City since 1840. On the Raritan Valley Rail Line, the “Midtown Direct” trains can get commuters to New York’s Penn Station in about 1 hr 15 min.
Dunellen is a vibrant community with a busy main street of shops and restaurants. Community activities center around Washington Park, just 2 short blocks North of Front Street. Popular events held in the park include the annual Harvest Festival, held in early October. It’s also the venue of summertime concerts. There is an annual Street Fair held on Front Street, which features many activities for all family members.
