Living in Metuchen

Metuchen got its name from Chief Matouchin of the Raritan people of the Lenape Native Americans. Originally part of Woodbridge, Metuchen is now surrounded by Edison. Metuchen is a charming town, with quiet residential streets, a marvelous main street, and a wide variety of excellent restaurants. Shopping is fun in the shops along Main Street, and a newly opened Whole Foods Market is very popular. Metuchen’s location on the Northeast Corridor Rail Line makes it popular with commuters. A train ride from Metuchen to New York’s Penn Station usually takes less than 1 hr. Fun fact: Magician David Copperfield was born in Metuchen in 1956
